Q.: I just got a new job here in Georgia with the military. I just want a good smile. I want all my teeth to be in line. I want veneers or lumineers for my teeth. As many as they show in my smile, 20-22, I do not know. My teeth are stained now, and I feel better looking teeth would improve my life.
I will have dental and health insurance through the military that covers to 70% of dental services. However it only starts in 90 days. Even after three months it will not cover veneers at all. I have done research on the internet and veneers cost $700-$1000 each. I am also looking at a bill of $100 or more monthly on my antidepressant prescriptions. A prescription drug coverage would be useful as well.

You have found for yourself that typical dental insurances do not cover veneers or lumineers. They classify these as cosmetic dental services and exclude them from coverage. As you have experienced, these insurances have waiting periods and you will possibly run into annual limits as well if you use your plan substantially. So you can get a few or all of your veneers this year or next year. Some of these plans include prescription drugs as well so you can save in the pharmacy as well. Cosmetic Teeth Whitening Dental Plan Wanted, Plus Crowns, Plus a Vision Plan
Q.: I only have Peach Care right now for my dental coverage. It only covers cleanings twice a year. It does give me some discount on fillings as well. I'm looking for a supplemental plan. I need a few, 2-3 crowns and a few more fillings at this time. I was quoted $650 for a single crown and $85-$135 each for my fillings. I would also like to have my teeth whitened which is normally $200-$300 out of pocket.
I would want a plan activated ASAP because I am missing a front tooth. I could use a vision plan for my glasses as well. Can you suggest a plan that would help me with the cost of these services, mainly cosmetic teeth whitening, crowns and vision?

Cosmetic Dental Insurance
Q: I would really like a plan that covers cosmetic dentistry like root canals, crowns, bridges, possibly dental implants. I have seen several plans online that do NOT cover cosmetic dentistry. I have no dental coverage now and the root canal alone would cost me $800 out of pocket. I don't even want to ask about the prices of crowns and bridge work, I never even checked about that. I would like a plan with a good selection of dentists in my area and good savings.

That way you know that if there is a dental procedure you want, it will be covered regardless. It will be just between you and your dentist or specialist. You will decide what procedures you will have done and what procedures you won't. Plus, you are making a good point about the selection of dentists.
